Dayton Audio LCDART303 Articulating High Capacity TV Wall Mount Review

I bought this wall mount for my wife's workout room. We installed our 32" LCD TV on it. I chose this product because of the swivel articulation. I mounted it directly in front of my wife's treadmill, but wanted to ability to turn the TV sideways and down, so that she could use her Wii with it, as well. This product works about right with this size TV, but any larger, and I'd have to go with a different mount.

When inspecting this mount, prior to installing, I noticed a few things.
1)The instructions are sufficient for installation, but absolutely lack details about actually using the mount. It isn't rocket science, but it'd be nice to have some general usage suggestions.
2)The mounting holes on the wall plate are just a little too wide, if you're drilling into a single 2x4 stud in the wall. I actually had to drill at a slight angle, just to make sure I was going to hit the stud. So, when I inserted the screws, the screw heads weren't flush with the wall plate.
3)The arm of the mount slides in from the top, which was relatively easy to accomplish. But, the only thing keeping it from sliding all the way through the wall plate is a small set-screw at the bottom. That's it. It's probably sufficient, but they could have included something a little beefier, just for peace of mind.
4)The thumbscrews included for securing the VESA mount to the arm didn't come with any lockwashers. So, you should either add some lockwashers or you have to really crank down on the thumbscrews to keep it tight. And, even cranking down on it won't keep the TV from sagging downwards.

For the price and basic functionality, I give this 3 stars. But, it definitely loses points on these other 4 points.

Looks much more expensive then it is. Nice big drawers. It puts together like most particle board products though with cheap hardware. I would not recommend moving it around very much as it is not particularly strong. Currently it has a 50 inch LED tv on it and the top is slighlty bowed.

I purchased a 47 inch LED HD television to replace my aging and bulky 27 inch CRT television. My old TV and VCR sat on a small stand and my receiver, DVD player, VSH tapes, record player, cable box, and cable router were in a tall (72 inches) cabinet. I wanted one unit that would hold all of my equipment in style. After searching through over 50 different styles and brands of entertainment stands, I chose this one. It can be difficult to determine if a particular product will fit your needs just by looking at a picture on a website. Fortunately I was able to find the general measurements and "guessimated" it would be a good fit. As for the unit itself, the color of the finish is much darker than shown. The overall quality of the materials were very good and sturdy. All the hardware was well packed and no parts were missing. The instructions was fairly clear, but could be better with more and clearer written guidance. It took approximately two hours to put it together by myself. Putting on and adjusting the glass doors was the biggest challenge, but otherwise the assembly was fairly easy. You will need a heavy duty phillips screwdriver and a small hammer for assembly. It would be best to have another person available to help move the unit once it is put together, it weighs over 120 pounds. Once I had the unit put into place, I transferred all of the above mentioned equipment onto it. I wish I could show a photo of the completed setup, it worked better than I anticipated. It looks like a unit costing $$ more. The 47 inch HD TV looks great sitting on the simulated granite top. My biggish Onkyo receiver is a great fit on the top middle shelf with room for ventilation (this unit can run hot). My center speaker fit perfectly on the shelf beneath the TV with the DVD player and AT&T cable box on either side. The VCR and tapes went on the shelves behind the glass doors. It has totally transformed the look in my living room and enhanced my audio visual experience.

Home Styles 5531-09 Bedford TV Stand, Black Finish Review

Stand took about 2 hours for us to assemble. Arrived with all parts included and everything in good condition. It is sturdy and attractive.
My one complaint is the cable/cord holes are at the very bottom of the stand. We prefer our cable box & DVD player on the upper shelf. Needs an additional cord opening higher up in the back.

Crosley Furniture LaFayette 48-Inch TV Stand, Black Review

I spend a lot of time comparing online product descriptions and customer reviews, and I did so when selecting the Crosley LaFayette 48-inch TV stand in classic cherry color. Despite my initial misgivings due to some of the negative reviews posted here, I'm glad I went ahead and hit that "buy" button, because I simply could not be happier with this purchase.

First of all, the assembled TV stand is absolutely gorgeous, and it matches well with cherry bookcases we have in our den. It has a solid, substantial feel to it. All the doors and interior shelves align perfectly for a high-quality, finished look.

Second, every part fit together for me smoothly, snugly, seamlessly, and (most often) easily. I had none of the problems reported by others about poorly drilled, mismatched, or unaligned holes. In fact, the measurements are so precise that the four legs don't wobble a bit on our hardwood floor, and there is no "daylight" visible in seams where pieces join. The locking cams were sometimes a bit tight, but they all screwed in with a little effort. In just a few cases, I had some difficulty putting in wood screws (as you often do in any such assembly); a little WD-40 solved that issue quickly. Only one piece had a slight flaw: A separately attached little wooden block was loose, as if the glue didn't quite take. During assembly, though, the looseness of that small block made no difference, because it was pressed snugly against another piece of the unit.

Third, the "hardware" all came intelligently packaged, clearly labeled and numbered in separate compartments of a single plastic form -- not just tossed together in little plastic bags with twist-ties. There were a few extras parts thrown in, too, which came in handy when I accidentally broke one due to my own ineptness.

Fourth, I found the assembly instructions to be simple, clear, systematic, and accurate. I managed to open the packaging, separate all the well-labeled pieces, then put the whole thing together myself, without assistance, in a little over three hours, taking my time.

Fifth and finally, the unit's pieces and parts were shipped together inside a large cardboard packing carton, with a second insulating carton inside, each part shielded from the others (and outside damage) with abundant styrofoam blocks and sheets. Though the exterior carton showed a few tears, not a single part inside was scratched or damaged in any way. (For some reason, the short legs of the unit, visible in the product photo, were shipped separately and arrived a day earlier, with their own sheet of instructions.)

My wife and I both love the unit. It's the perfect perch for our new 43" Samsung TV, and a handsome addition to our den. The interior has multiple shelves, five of which have adjustable heights. I immediately spaced the bottom two spaces in the side compartments at heights to hold DVDs. This left a smaller opening above the DVDs, which proved to be the perfect size to hold rows of CDs.

We couldn't be happier or more impressed with the appearance and workmanship, or with the shipping speed and packaging. For the price, the Crosley LaFayette 48" TV stand is an outstanding bargain, and in cherry, it looks beautiful.
