Along with other amazon items I've purchased, this one was shipped out fast and got here fast. total of 3 days. Very pleased with that.

The item itself is sturdy and securely built. The only minor flaw with this is that whenever you tilt it downwards, the joint gets loose and you would have to tighten it to get it to tilt without it being loose. It's happened to me twice but of course, 3rd time's the charm. Hasn't gotten loose as of yet but I just say it needs a good tightening to perform perfectly. I would suggest tightening it enough so it won't go loose. Kinda scares you if your monitor is high up and the joint gets loose. I know it scared me.

Sauder Graham Hill Multimedia Storage Tower - Autumn Maple Review

I spent a long time trying to find the right cabinet for my growing DVD collection. Most of the other cabinets I looked at had at least one shelf that would not store DVDs vertically. About ten years ago, I bought a massive computer desk from Sauder (the manufacturer of this product), and it is still in great condition, so I trusted the name, even though there was only one prior review on this item. The other reviewer also mentioned the shelves had "bowed" a little, so she inserted wooden supports in the middle of each shelf. That sounds like a workable solution, but I have not noticed any bowing with just normal DVD storage. UPDATE: After about 1 year of use, I did notice some bowing on the shelves that are completely full of DVDs. I followed the other reviewer's recommendation and cut some boards and placed them in the center of the shelves to eliminate this bowing. That has solved the problem. A photo of the shelves with the wooden supports appears on the main page for this product.

The package was very securely wrapped and well protected during shipping. Assembly only took me about 90 minutes, but others could probably do it a lot faster. The directions were very easy to follow, and all of the pieces fit together nicely. NOTE: when you unfold the thin material that covers the back of the shelf, it appears to be a little narrower than the cabinet itself. It is not! Just make sure you're flatening it out completely, so it fits evenly all around, before you put the nails in. If you don't, it will leave a little gap between the shelves and the back. The instructions mentioned this, but I did not follow it precisely. That was my fault, but it's no big thing.

All shelf heights can be adjusted easily by repositioning any of the boards (except for top and bottom board). Dimensions: 54 1/2" high / 6 1/2" deep shelves / 9 1/2" deep at base. Each shelf is 35" wide and can comfortably hold 60 DVDs vertically (total 360). There are four small supplied rubber feet that can be placed on the bottom of the cabinet to make it more stable. However, since my cabinet sits flush on a carpet, up against a wall, I did not attach them. It also comes with a mounting bracket for permanently attaching to a wall, if you so choose. I would not use this product without some type of wall support.

One minor note: although the packing slip that came with my unit indicates "autumn maple" as the color, if you look at the photo I provided, you will see a much darker color than the stock photo shown. I don't know the name of this finish, but it is definitely not "Autumn Maple." I was a little surprised by this, but not disappointed, as I think it looks nice. Of course, classier cabinets made of real wood are available, but they cost much more than I wanted to spend.

I've bought a number of low cost, unassembled pieces of furniture. This is, by far, the best. I don't know how much actual wood this thing is made of but it really doesn't matter. You cannot tell the difference. I had been looking for a dark cherry, corner entertainment center to match my wood bedroom furniture for years and never found a decent looking solution. This TV stand looks elegant, appears sturdy and matches the other furniture perfectly! And, the construction is straight forward. It takes a while but, if you can work a screw driver, you can do it. The door handles are of questionable design and I wish it had another cable access hole in the back but those are minor drawbacks. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase.
