Really one of the few options I found if you are trying to mount in a short section of wall with only a single stud. I had a space that was between a door frame and a corner in my office, and almost all the rest I found required two studs, or can otherwise confusing directions.

Pretty straight-forward on this one, for wood at least. Pick your height, find the center of the stud, drill in two no-messing-around screw bolts, done. It is a little of a hassle hanging the back-plate on the wall plate alone, but not so much a design issue. It's like trying to get a wall picture on a hook, but you're holding up a TV in the process.
