Simple Shelving Solutions CLG-00036 Floating Shelf for Stationary and Tilt TV Wall Mounts 36-Inch Clear Glass/32-60 Review

I am very dissatisfied with this product. I took a chance, and bought this Floating Shelf by Simple Shelving Solutions even though there were no reviews which is something I NEVER do, and boy oh boy, am I sorry I did!

First of all, it does not work with my Sanus TV Wall Mount 32" - 60". This is the description provided on Amazon.com:

"The Simple Shelf currently works with 32" to 60" stationary and tilt mounts from AVF Vector, Bello, Chief, Haropa, Ionic, K2, Level Mount, Luxor, Monster, Omni, Peerless, Premier, ProMount, Rhino, Sanus and Welton."

Not the case. With the shelf installed and hooked onto my Sanus TV Wall Mount, when I try to tip down my 42" TV, it hits the arms of the shelf preventing any sort of tilt. I may as well have a stationary mount.

Secondly, in the photos, it shows that the shelf can be placed directly under the TV. That is not the case either. In order to get the shelf that close to my 42" TV, the arms had to be cut about two inches.

Thirdly, the plastic suctions that hold the glass shelf will not stay within the holes making the shelf unsteady if the components on top are moved.

And lastly, this all black metal unit came with silver screws that look awful when viewed from the side making it look tacky and cheap.

The beveled glass is very solid, but the product as a whole is definitely not worth $120.00. Multiple patents are pending, so I would wait until this shelf has been perfected and thoroughly reviewed before purchasing.

Simplicity SMF2 Medium Full-motion Tv Wall Mount 19-47 incheses Review

After installing this mount and our flat screen LCD TV on it, we were sorely disappointed. We leveled the TV when the mount was straight out. Then, when the TV is swung to either the right or left, against the wall, the TV is not level. Swung to the left, the TV slants to the left. Swung to the right the TV slants to the right. Took the TV off, to be sure weight was not an issue, and sure enough, the arm just slants downward, So which ever way you swing it, the TV will slant that direction. I called their support number, and the person said, "Yes, the arm on this mount does have a downard slope." They know the problem exists. She told me to level the TV while it was against the wall, then to pull it straight out, maybe a bit to the right of center, and that is the other "sweet spot" (as she called it) where the TV will be almost level. She also suggested I could use their model with two arms, which, she said, is around $500.

Do not plan to have your TV level in every position it can be moved to. It will be level against the wall, and almost level in just one other spot (according to the manufacturer's support person). If that one spot, just to the right of center, is the only spot you want the TV to watch it, then this mount may work for you. I advise against trying it.

On the positive side, it was easy to install, and there are two mounting plates to choose from for attaching the TV, so it should fit many models.

Just moved into a new house & the fire place was begging for a tv! Wife let me get a new LG, but the manntel was to high for a normal tv mount. After searchinng all over we stumbled on to this one. Could nnot be happier! Shipping was fast, the mount is built like, and was not too hard to install on the brick. I used 4 large blue masonery screws & a hammer drill & had it up in about 2 hours. It swinngs down about 2 & 1/2 ft to a good viewing level. A bit pricy, but this thing will last forever!

AVF EL104B-A Multi Position Dual Arm TV Mount for 12-Inch to 25-Inch Screens (Black) Review

In a word: SOLID
This wall mount is a darned good deal for an incredible price (btw, it's at least $40 higher at a local electronics marketplace in Minnesota). Hard to find one at this price that not only extends outwards and swivels left/right, but also tilts -- all with ease -- and this one fits the bill. I have a 24" Sansui HDTV that weighs (per specs) 8.0 lbs or 3.5kg, and this mount is perfect. Yes, the VESA mounting pattern had me concerned because I didn't know what that meant, but it fit my Sansui perfectly, and is a 4"x4" pattern; plus the bracket-plate on the mount has two holes on the top and two elongated slider holes on the bottom (see image) to accommodate from 4"x3" to 4"x4" hole separations. According to the information from AVF, this mount holds up to a 25", 33 lb TV.

It's very fluid in movement, no grinding or gnashing of cheap parts, as everything about it smacks of quality. Like I said, it's solid.

And it does require assembly... a lot of assembly. One reviewer wrote that the instructions were intimidating. I tend to agree, and I've included an image of the instructions as part of the "customer images." They are diagrammed only; no words, so you best be mechanically inclined and patient. That said, the thing is actually fairly easy to put together if you can get past the incredibly detailed illustrations. I'd estimate that after I laid out all the pieces and parts on the floor; determined where I wanted it on the wall and found the stud behind the sheetrock (which you definitely must use for secure mounting), it took me about 35 minutes to assemble and put into place.
