I have a family room where no wall was suitable for mounting a TV and this was a great solution.

It was easy to assemble and looks classy and elegant.

However, I do not understand why the vertical post does not have holes in the front for the cables to come out and plug into the various components and TV. It has a channel in the back of the post for cable management but no holes in the front for access to the devices - completely inexplicable.

The packaging was torn and battered when it arrived; some of the pieces were protuding out. I was expecting dings and scratches on some of the metal parts but luckily - those had been wrapped and that saved them.

Home Styles 5532-12 Hanover Entertainment TV Stand, Cherry Finish Review

The instructions that came with this stand were so easy to follow that that alone is enough to buy this one! It wasn't the nicest I've ever bought though. It was packaged very well too. They took a lot of effort to pack this and despite that the top and bottom panel was badly damaged in shipment. The box had many dents in it and I signed for it as such. Also, there was a nailer for the back panel that never got put on it and the other one was broken off. I was able to repair it so that we can use it. None of the damage shows from the front on the finished product. After I was done it looked great. It took me 1.5 hrs. to assemlbe it by myself. All that is needed is one screwdriver. Reinstalling all those wires took another 1.5 to get it all set up with our TV and audio equipment.

All in all I would buy this again and will keep it as it is. It looks great and should last a long time!

Standard Furniture Madrid Entertainment Console Review

Upon putting this console together I realized that I received two right shelves instead of one left and one right. I contacted the company, Amazon/Plumstruck, and they first offered me a 10% discount, lol. I then called amazon and they said they could send out another console and I could swap out the shelf I needed and they would pay for return shipping. They also tried to order just the one shelf I needed. Over the course of 2+ months I could not get definitive info on whether the shelf was on the way or not. I really didn't want to go through the hassle of ordering another unit, hoping I received the proper piece, and arranging for return pickup. I kept procrastinating on how I wanted to proceed and then a few days ago, without any notice, the shelf just shows up on my doorstep. Better late than never but the amount of time waiting/not knowing was ridiculous. I actually considered keeping the unit without one shelf, it was actually somewhat beneficial to have one side that could accomodate much taller books. Overall the quality is just so-so. If you look across the unit there is a slight bow in the top. Also, there are noticeable differences in the finish from one panel to another. As always seems to be the case with items like this, the directions are confusing and assembly takes quite a while. I would probably not buy this piece again although the size fits my space nicely and the design is somewhat unique/different.

TechCraft FLEX42W 44-Inch 3-in-1 TV Stand with Removable Mount and Media Storage, Black/Walnut Review

Cymax sent this TV stand immediately. It was beautifully packed; the contents were in perfect shape. The materials are top quality -- nicely finished wooden legs (solid, not veneer, with a rich walnut stain); nicely finished glossy black steel framing (mostly invisible when the stand is set up); and black, tempered glass shelves (the top shelf screws down via some attractive, inlaid steel hardware). The instructions were crystal clear, and the components fitted together perfectly. It's a very solid, very attractive piece of furniture that blends with any decor. The TV mounting hardware, which you can either use (as in the photo) or not, is very heavy and sturdy.

My only complaint is that I would have been happier if I could have bought the stand without the mounting hardware, which must account for at least a third or more of the price. Although this stand is advertised as a "42-inch" stand, it is in fact 44 inches wide at the front -- precisely the width of our Samsung 50-inch LED TV. (The instructions say the stand will accommodate a 50-inch TV.) The TV looks perfect on the stand, but only because it is sitting on its own "feet" on the top shelf toward the front of the stand. The TV stand is nestled nicely into a corner and doesn't dominate the room despite the screen size. If I had opted to mount the TV on the mounting hardware at the rear of the stand, however, the stand wouldn't have fit as far back into the corner because of the width of the TV. (Note that the photo shows the stand in front of a wall -- not in a corner. Now you know why.) Perhaps that's why the stand is listed as intended for a 42-inch TV -- anything larger will make it hard to use the stand in a corner. I gave the product 4-stars only because I ended up with a lot of hardware I don't need and will probably never use.

Those who opt to use the mounting hardward may be unhappy to find that the mounting column rises to 58 inches from the floor -- meaning that the top of the TV will probably be even higher than that. It's clearly a matter of personal preference, but I think that's a bit high for comfortable viewing. Our 50-inch TV tops out at 51 inches, which means it's at eye level for seated viewers. If it IS too high, of course, you always have the option of installing your TV's own hardware and sitting it on the top shelf. But then you'll wonder, as I do, why you needed to pay for all that extra mounting hardware.

The product was just right for my TV and fit well. I had to purchase a couple of washers for the attachments to attach to the TV correctly and a dry wall anchor as the distance between the 2 wall attachments is around 10 inches while you might not get studs on both the ends. So a trip to the hardware store might be required to pick up these 2 inexpensive things though. However if you are installing it on a concrete wall, the required hardware is provided. Installation is very easy though.
