Although Amazon lists this (SU-WL53) as a "newer model" of the SU-WL500, it is not an exact replacement and may not be compatible with your Sony TV. I was unable to use this with my KDL-52XBR4 (circa 2006).

As you can see from the picture, this mount consists of 4 black metal plates. 2 plates attach to the wall and 2 attach to the TV, and then the TV hooks into the wall plates. I encountered 2 issues:

1) The SU-WL53 ships with with M5 screws for securing the plates to the TV. My TV requires M6 screws. Yes, you can go buy matching screws at a hardware store, but it's a sign you're using the wrong mount. The SU-WL500 comes with M6 screws.
2) The mount has 3 sets of slots on the wall plates where the TV plates will hook in; the set of slots you use depends on what size/model of TV you have. With the TV plates mounted to my TV, the hooks did not line up properly with the slots on the wall plates.

If your TV is slightly older and specifies the SU-WL500 as its wall mount, buy that instead. (Unfortunately, the SU-WL500 is an extra $120 over this model.) You may be able to bend some metal slightly and make the SU-WL53 work, but I was not willing to do this.

All that said, if your TV is compatible with this mount, it appears to be well built and solid. Note that it is not a slim/flush mount by any means -- the back of your TV will be ~2" from the wall.
