I have used these to mount a 24' CB/Ham antennae on the side of a shed. I used PVC pipe for the stand-off and U-clamps to affix the antennae to the mount. We've had some high winds since these went up and the antennae has remained secure. A word of caution - when drilling the mounting holes, bolt one side in first and then drill the remaining side. The mounts tend to flatten out a bit when you torque down the lag bolts. Very simple product, but does exactly what you want it to do.
