I purchased this item from a furniture store. Driving it home 48 miles I always worry that when I unpack the item it will be damaged, but this unit was really well packed and everything was in great shape...I can't say enough about the packing. At first it seemed like quite a bit of pieces and hardware, but once you lay it out and start putting it together, it's pretty easy and the instructions are great. I always separate the nuts and fasteners into groups and that makes it easier. The finished unit looks great and it gives a better appearance then the less expensive brands. You can pay less for a stand but it won't look as slick as this one. The best part is how I can now get my my components easier. The 46" TV hangs off it nicely and you can get it up to 60+" (top of TV)and maybe a bit more if you need it. Our old table top stand put the TV at 61"(top of TV)but with the new stand we decided that 58" looked about right. One note, some of the literature states that the wood end pieces are (solid wood),...well, it looks like solid wood but it appears to be some type of high quality coating or laminate. Visually, you can't tell but when you screw in the locking studs you will see a slight pucker around the threads. Either way, a really good product.
